An employee for 11 years, Santos has worked many aspects of the business. She started in 2006 selling cars, drawing on her outgoing personality and a background in retail sales. Customer service comes naturally: Growing up in New York, Santos helped in her parents’ restaurant and worked as a travel agent anda clothing retailer. Selling cars was just learninga new product.

The variety of the job kept her in the business. “You meet different people, and every transaction is different. You don’t come to work and do the same thing every day,” she said.

From sales, Santos moved into the finance side of the business, combining her love of math and management to serve as finance manager for three years. In addition to helping a customer find the right fit in a vehicle, she learned to navigate options to find the best financing solution for each customer’s individual situation. In fact, she was hesitant to move into managing sales because she enjoyed finance so much. But taking on a new challenge won out.
